make shitMy fascination with metaphysics inspires me to reevaluate the world through my art. When it comes to science, the existence of everything relies on the existence of everything else— everything is connected. I like to use elements in my work that convey continuous movement. The interconnectedness of things is frequently ignored, and the ability to reiterate the idea of constant flow is personally fulfilling.

I struggle with perfectionism and the desire to create spontaneously without inhibition, which leaves me constantly searching for a single all-inclusive medium. Sometimes my perfectionist self gets frightened of being unable master any "one" creative medium, but this feeling is immediately crushed by the exhilarating process of learning to navigate through yet another. I like to learn and philosophize about different techniques, processes and purposes; the exploration of art forms is what keeps me making art.

In 2016, I picked up the weaving traditions of my mother's lineage, that of the Tlingit people on the Northwest Coast. The means of taking the materials from the land and from that which surrounds me, from my ancestors and from the life in which I now live, teaches me in ways that cannot be put into words. The drive to weave is fierce, and it is a gift to be given time to do so. Through my weavings I hope to one day tell the story of a woman that still feels like a girl, yearning to return to find myself within a slew of cultures full of infinite influences.
